On December 8, 1995, the Eleventh Panchen Erdeni was enthroned at Tashilhunpo Monastery. In January of the following year, the Panchen went to Beijing in person to convey his thanks to the central government carrying some gifts. As one of those gifts, this statue showcases his blessing—May the central government enjoy eternal governance! (Damzin Tashi)
