In 1415, upon the fifth Karmapa passing away, the Kagyu Sect found the reincarnated soul boy through investigation. After then, Emperor Yongle dispatched Xitian Fozi State Master Palden Tashi to inspect the soul boy. Thus the sixth Karmapa Tongwa Donden was the first Living Buddha the central governments dispatching officials to inspect. The sixth Karmapa dispatched envoys to pay tributes to the Ming Dynasty for eight times successively, which helped building a close relationship with the central governments. The Ming Dynasty also rewarded him much. This is the Imperial Edict by Emperor Xuande conferring him as "Zen Master of Wisdom and Compassion". (Yang Hongjiao)
