This is the decree of the National Government conferring the title “Great Master of Infinite Wisdom, Defender of the Nation and Propagator of the Doctrine” upon the Ninth Panchen Erdeni in 1931. During his years in the inland, the Panchen upheld the national unity and protected China against the invasion of Japan after the onset of the September 18 Incident. For this reason, the government conferred this title upon him and granted him a jade seal.
