"Xitian Fozi Yuanliu Lu" was the biography of Palden Tashi, an eminent monk of the Tibetan Buddhist in the Ming Dynasty. It was composed in the time of the reign of Emperor Xuande of the Ming Dynasty. Designated by Emperor Yongle, Palden Tashi visited Tibet for four times, witnessing and participating important events associated with the central government of early Ming Dynasty and the Tibet local government, one event in which, was his visiting to Tibet for inspecting the reincarnated soul boy of the Great Treasure Dharma-Raja in Nyingchi Prefecture, which was the beginning of central governments dispatching officials to inspect reincarnated soul boys of the Tibetan Buddhism. This is the transcription recording the inspection of soul boys in the 9th year under the reign of Emperor Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty. (Yang Hongjiao)
