(1) The Sixth Jamyang Hutuktu
On March 6, 1952, the enthronement ceremony of The Sixth Jamyang Hutuktu, Lozang Jigme Thubten Choskyi Nyima (1948-), were held in Labrang Monastery in Xiahe county of Gansu province (Fig. 20). Chairman Peng Dehuai, vice chairman Xi Zhongxun and vice chairman Zhang Zhizhong of the Northwest commission of military affairs and politics gave the flag of "Strength Ethnic Solidarity,Strive for Construction of the People's Motherland". The governments of Guansu and Qinghai provinces dispatched representatives for congratulation. The Sixth Jamyang Hutuktu was the first grand Living Buddha recognized by approval of the People's Republic of China after its establishment.
(2) The seventeenth Karmapa Urgyen Trinley
On September 27 1992, the grand enthronement ceremony for the seventeenth Karmapa of the Karma Kagyu Sect, Urgyen Drodon Trinley Dorje (1983-), was held in Tsurphu Monastery. Ren Wuzhi, Director of the Religious Affair Bureau of the State Council, presented the Approval of Recognition conferred by the State Council (Fig. 21) to Urgyen Trinley to formally approve him to be the seventeenth Karmapa, who was the first Living Buddha approved formally by the central government since the democrat reform of Tibet in 1959. The seventeenth Karmapa lives abroad at present.
(3) The sixth Dedruk Jamyang Sherab Palden
Jamyang Sherab Palden (2005-), born in Longsi county, Tibet, was recognized as the reincarnated soul boy of the fifth Dedruk by the Drawing Lots from the Golden Urn on July 4, 2010 in Jokhang Monastery in Lhasa. On August 2, the enthronement ceremony was held in the Chapel of the Zagor monastery in Longzi County (Fig. 22). Vice chairman of Government of Tibet Autonomous Region, Lozang Gyumey,read the Approval for Holding Enthronement Ceremony of Reincarnated Soul Boy of Dedruk by the Religious Commission of the Autonomous Region and decreed Tulku Certification to the sixth Dedruk Jamyang Sherab Palden, who was the first Living Buddha recognized by the Drawing Lots from the Golden Urn since "Methods for Managing the Reincarnation of Living Buddhas in Tibetan Buddhism" was published.
